To really get you and your little ones in the camper spirit, we recommend enjoying this activity with a big bag of marshmallows (who says you can not create marshmallow reindeers in the summer!?! ) and some spooky ghost stories!

This painting method is so simple but very effective. The crinkled tin foil has an amazing texture that your kids will love to experiment and play with. Just make sure you lay down newspaper in case of any accidental spillages! Like a real fire, the camp fire painting might easily spread beyond the paper in the heat of the moment!

Let’s Make the Campfire painting craft

Quickly grab all the material you will need and get going with the campfire craft.

You Will Need

What To Do:

1 To start a fire you’ll need some fuel! To make the campfire sticks cut strips of brown paper or card and glue them to your sheet of paper.

2 To make the fiery paint, squeeze equal amounts of red, orange and yellow paint onto a plate.

3 Scrunch and squish a length of tin foil into a bumpy shape with lots of different levels. Dip the tin foil into the paint and then dab the foil above the campfire sticks.

4 Keep adding dabs of paint to bring the blazing campfire into life!

We hope you have fun making this camping inspired craft! Be sure to share your flame-tastic artworks on social media, we always love to see happy campers! If you need some cooling down after that hot fire craft, check out our ice cube painting activity. For a bit more messy fun, we have an activity for you to easily create safari animals from handprints. Such a lot of fun and just the right level of messiness.

We’d love to see your creations, so why not share them on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter with #toucanBox. Our favourite snaps could feature in the next issue of toucanBox Magazine!
