Homemade Marshmallow Snow Slime for Kids | Winter Crafting

This snowy marshmallow slime recipe is super simple to make even for kids. Because it’s made with only edible ingredients it’s completely non-toxic and safe for kids of all ages to play with! Be prepared that your kids might just additionally to preparing the marshmallow slime want to eat the warm slime marshmallows straight from the bowl. But be cautious: Make sure that the kids dip in their fingers before the marshmallows get really hot!

Maybe its safer to just let them have a few un-heated ones: It must be too hard for true marshmallow fans to only turn them into slime while missing out the fun of actually munching some themselves. Is the marshmallow slime edible?

Even if theoretically all ingredients are edible and absolutely non-toxic, we would recommend that you would ask your kids not to eat it. As we all know in the heat of playing the kids will most likely drop it not only once. And depending on where it touches base: We might not want the kids to eat the marshmallow slime with some extra special ingredients the slime picked up on its exciting escape…

How to prepare the homemade marshmallow slime fun?

Empty and clean your workspace so that it is sticky-licky-finger-proof. Long hair might be best tied up to avoid having to comb out sticky bits of slime afterwards.

1 Put the marshmallows into a heatproof bowl and microwave in 20-30 second bursts until completely melted. Stir in between.

2 Sift in the icing sugar and stir in the oil. Then mix with a spoon and allow to cool for 5-10 minutes.

3 Coat your hands in oil and continue to combine the mixture with your hands. The slime will feel quite sticky! Keep adding a little more oil until it feels like it can be played with without it getting too sticky.

4 Mix in a few drops of food colouring if you’d like coloured slime, and/or 1-2 tsp of sprinkles.

Tip: you could divide your slime into 2 or 4 portions and try different colourings or sprinkles!

How to play with the fun marshmallow snow slime

Have fun getting stuck into the slime and get busy creating amazing snowy creations with your snowy marshmallow slime. You could roll the slime into three balls to make a snowman, or experiment with just how far you can stretch it! Be sure to share your slimy masterpieces on social media!! Remember, whilst this slime is made from edible materials we do not recommend eating it! It’s far more fun to squish or to start a mini snowball fight!
