toucanBox wins 2018 Academics’ Choice Brain Toy Award
toucanBox has been honoured with a 2018 Academics’ Choice Brain Toy Award, a prestigious seal of educational quality, reserved only for the best mind-building media and toys.
Championing STEAM/STEM, the National Curriculum and Montessori learning, each toucanBox activity helps develop a range of essential skills.
Develops fine motor movement with tasks such as cutting, threading, sewing, painting and colouring.
Advances class activities and discussion across a range of curriculum-based topics. Parents can track curriculum-based skills via the Toucan Tracker, a logbook that breaks down the key skill-set of the latest National Curriculum.
toucanBox Magazine explores topics via STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts and Maths) with fun, engaging challenges, puzzles, experiments and stories.
Start a class with minimal fuss. Each box contains everything a child will need to make their project, including instructions and a magazine workbook.
The perfect way to immerse children in learning new themes, encouraging their curiosity and exploring the world around us.
Inspires children with ‘take home’ tasks that encourage parental involvement, further challenges and discussion at home over the school holidays.
Each toucanBox project develops numerous skills in children, from tuning fine motor movements to exploring topics, developing reading and comprehension skills, problem solving, and much more. The best thing about the learning is that children are so entertained they don’t realise it’s happening.
The toucanTracker is designed to convey to parents the kind of skills their children are learning. Skills are categorised in line with the National Curriculum and EYFS frameworks, to help parents have a greater understanding of how children learn skills in a school setting.
Schools that purchase boxes in bulk from us can help their students obtain the Arts Award. A small fee applies for each submission.
Offering Arts Award can help schools to demonstrate certain elements of the Ofsted framework and Teaching Standards and provides links to the curriculum.
The toucanBox Arts Award Discover Logbook can be completed alongside the toucanBox activities. It contains inspiration and activities for children to complete and record their discovery of different forms of art, to learn more about artists and their work and to share what they have learnt.
There is no upfront cost but a £4.95 fee will apply for each logbook submitted to us. A discount may apply to the submission fee if 30 or more logbooks are submitted at the same time. Please email [email protected] for more information.
Once the logbook is completed please email scans or clear photo captures of each page to [email protected].
Our Education Team will assess it and apply for your Arts Award Discover Certificate. Certificates are ordered from and printed by Arts Award and this can take up to 8 weeks at busy times. We will do our best to try and make this process as speedy as possible.
