toucanBox chief, founder and CEO Virginie Charlès-Dear has been shortlisted as a finalist in the 2017 Natwest everywoman Awards, celebrating her incredible steering of the toucanBox-ship, after a hugely successful 2017.

The Natwest everywoman Awards, now in its 15th year, celebrates the achievements of female entrepreneurs across the UK.

Virginie’s been chosen as a finalist in the Brand of the Future Award category, sponsored by The White Company – awarded to the founder of a business that demonstrates great potential for growth. toucanBox has had a staggering year, celebrating - amongst other milestones - the shipment of our two-millionth box.

Selected by a judging panel of 18 of the country’s most successful businesswomen, including Chrissie Rucker MBE, Cath Kidston MBE, Rosaleen Blair CBE and Poonam Gupta OBE, the winner will officially be announced at a ceremony on the 6th December, hosted at London’s Dorchester.

Speaking about the finalists, Maxine Benson MBE, Co-founder at everywoman comments: “When we created these awards 15 years ago to champion women in enterprise, little did we know the stories we would uncover and the phenomenal women we would meet. Over the years we have been delighted to learn of the impact these awards have had on previous winners. We believe women from all backgrounds should have a platform to share their success stories and highlight what can be achieved even when faced with life’s biggest challenges. This year’s finalists are a true testament to the breadth of female talent in this country and we wish them all continued success.”

Julie Baker, Head of Enterprise at NatWest, said: “We are very proud to recognise these women, who are not just successful in their own businesses, but are also great role models. The importance of women in business cannot be underestimated, so we hope these role models will inspire other women to take their first steps in business. To help these entrepreneurs and would-be business owners, NatWest has a network of over 450 externally accredited Women in Business specialists who understand our customers’ ambitions and provide business advice, mentoring and networking opportunities.”

Chrissie Rucker MBE, Founder of The White Company, adds; “We are delighted to sponsor The Brand of the Future Award for the 3rd year. At The White Company we put the brand at the heart of everything we do and over the years I have been lucky enough to be given some really wonderful pieces of advice from colleagues and mentors. It has helped me personally with some very important decisions and helped the business grow and develop enormously. I hope by sharing some of our experience with the winner it will be helpful for another young brand with a great future ahead of it”.

With three box options, and shipping to the UK, ROI, Italy and France, the award is a great opportunity to reflect on an incredible five years, whilst looking ambitiously toward 2018 and breaking even more records.
