Sometimes kids can find it hard to wind down after an exciting day of play. However, simple activities like finger tracing can help your child to relax by focussing their energy on a calming task.
Just print out our finger tracing shapes, cut along the dashed lines, fold along the dotty lines, and then staple together to make a mini flip book!
Place your finger on one of the small circles inside the shape, then trace along the line until you come to the small circle at the end.
Stash your flip book somewhere handy and use it daily as a “calm down” activity.
When your child is finger tracing you could play some calming instrumental music to help them keep a slow, steady pace.
Why not encourage your child to get creative and draw their own finger tracing shapes to add to their mini flip book?
