We’re really excited about this one. For the entire month of October The Big Draw Festival is taking place. With thousands of events (and lots and lots of FREE events) taking place all over the country and the world, it’s an absolutely brilliant time to celebrate drawing and get creative. And toucanBox is thrilled to be a part of it this year.
Special Edition toucanBox Magazine
For our subscribers, in your new toucanBox delivery you’ll find our special edition Big Draw issue of toucanBox Magazine, packed full of ideas to let your creative juices flow across all areas of STEAM (science, technology, engineering, the arts and maths). From city planning to biological drawing, you’ll be learning as you draw, scribble and doodle. Design a toucanBox Front Cover
Your little one can win the chance for their drawing to appear as the front cover of an upcoming toucanBox magazine! Not only that, they’ll win themselves a 12-month toucanBox subscription, with a runner’s up prize of a 6-month subscription and artwork featured inside the magazine. The challenge is simple: design a front cover for toucanBox magazine and submit it to us by sharing it on Instagram or Facebook with #toucanBoxBigDraw or email it to us at [email protected]. We can’t wait to see all the creative entries.

The Big Draw 2018 = Play
The theme of this year’s Big Draw Festival is Play. The central idea is to encourage children - and adults alike - to really let loose with their creativity and embracing those happy accidents. Sometimes the prospect of drawing or being creative becomes daunting. What if it’s not good enough? What if my drawing on the page doesn’t resemble what’s in my head? What if I make a mistake?
Put all those nagging thoughts to one side, and just start doodling. Place a pencil on the page without planning and see where it takes you. Discover, experiment and have fun.
